What is a Script Treatment and how long should it be?

I'm an aspiring screenwriter/director, and I have an idea for a movie. I know you should write the treatment first, then an outline, then the actual screenplay. So, what is a script treatment? How long should the script treatment be? What is an outline, like the format/layout of it? And can I get any books that'll help with this stuff?
