Am i being a good person for encouraging my BFF to accomplish her dreams?

Me and Brianna have been best friends since 8th grade until now (im about in my second year of college in august). We've had little disagreements here and there, but we are so much alike. Shes been through so much with her mom kicking her out for no reason and now she feels all alone in this world and wants to go live with her father, who lives in another state. Now, since she feels like this, I want to help her out and work on our friendship. I told her that since she wants to be an actress and I want to be a screenwriter, we can help each other get to the top and encourage each other. I told her that evry1 needs encouragement to accomplish their dreams. Am I a good friend for saying this? Because Im confused..I dnt know how I feel right now but I do know that shes the realest friend I ever had in my life even tho we had ups and downs. And I have so much going on right now that I cant realli think straight. All i know is that I wana help out my best friend.
