SCREENWRITERS: i have a question.........?

Ask yourself where you want to take this screenplay and go there. Don't force it, but waiting can take forever. I can't even tell you how many times I waited for a good idea to come to me only to be stuck with nothing for months. Get a general idea of what you want it to be like. The genre and maybe even the amount of characters. Simple things. Then build up from them. Try to grasp inspiration from your everyday life. Focus on things you normally wouldn't focus on. Certain noises, scents, sights. I know this sounds stupid, but it forces your mind to read between the lines. This allows you to throw away the things you don't need and focus on the world in an entirely different view. Focus. And I idea will come soon. When you force something like that upon yourself, it doesn't come out as good as it could be. It ends up being like a school project--something you may not necessarily enjoy, but you have to do it anyway. Make sure you let people know you love what you're doing. Your passion should show in your work.
